Botkier

I'm really digging this Botkier satchel. It's a good size, not unbelievably expensive if I can find it on sale somewhere, I like the double short and long handles, and the zips add a little bit of flair. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is the roundness.

Tortoise

Kind of liking this tortoise shell effect bag from
ASOS (although maybe that "glowing from the
inside" effect doesn't come across quite like this
in real life).

Attack of the Pom Pons!

omg is it weird that I keep seeing pom pons everywhere I look? maybe
they're stalking me? Marc Jacobs fall 2010 (left) calling out to DIYers
everywhere (iridescent pom pons $2.99/60 right).

Another Satchel

Satchels ... yep still obsessed. Painted leather satchel by Magazyn.

Grab your batchel

I think these leather school-kid satchels and batchels
(apparently satchel + top handle = batchel) would make
super cute handbags especially in the 11" size. Plus you
can get them embossed with your initials or favorite
phrase. Christmas wishlist anyone?

Felt me up

I've been in the market for a new backpack/laptop bag for awhile now. I think this grey felt messenger bag from carga may be the one! I especially like the rugged wool felt, rivets and other industrialesque details. The only question is how it will hold up after getting drenched a few times in the rain (and how well it will protect my laptop which basically == my life). The smell of dirty wet felt is not on my all time list of favorite smells.

Sale item of the day

Linea Pelle amethyst purse, 43% off from Bluefly.com. I have been in love with Linea Pelle's super soft leather for ages and have been on the lookout for a purple purse for the past year. Very tempting...

Update (8/15/09): Bluefly has an extra 10% off all Bluesale items going on today. I just caved and ordered this purse! The only thing I'm not sure about is I wish it also came with a shorter strap in addition to the long strap. Oh well, I suppose I can always return it if it doesn't live up to my expectations.

Cross your body

I am so glad crossbody bags are back in style. These little ones would be great for
summer romping. I especially love the yellow See by Chloe one (33% off from
Nordstrom)! The second two are from my perennial favorite, Marc by Marc Jacobs
and on sale in Bloomingdale's 30% off designer handbags event (Quilting Single
Shoulder bag and Percy Crossbody).

Linea Pelle

Linea Pelle on HauteLook.com today. Very tempting... She uses the most supple, beautiful
leather, and I love the stud accenting. Here are my favorites from the sale.

Small Speedy, $150 (originally $375).

Nikki shoulder bag in flaming red, $218 (originally $545).

Cross body bags are so useful, Dylan small shoulder bag, $155 (originally $387.50).

Sale item of the day

I realized yesterday as I was digging through my pile of purses
that I don't have a really summer appropriate purse, something
smallish and preferably light colored. This is the one I'd get if I
hadn't already purchased a handbag this year. Summer chic in
"Latte", plus hexagons rock! Also save an extra 15% off orders
over $175 at Piperlime (10% 0ff orders over $125) with code
SAVE.

Bunnehs!!!

Just bought this majorly cute bag from LeSportSac! They have quite a few options
featuring the stylish Fifi Lapin, but I like the cross body strap on this one.

This window shopper tote was my second favorite. All bags come with a choice of
three different prints. Fifi in the sky (left) is pretty adorable as well.

I've been a fan of Fifi Lapin for awhile now and got these paired prints around
Christmas time, one for my good friend, and one for me. :) I just can't resist a
bunny in designer clothing!

Sale Handbags

All of the stores seem to be having early sales this year. I suppose it's
yet another sign that our economy is in the toilet, but on the up side
it's made for some good Christmas present deals. Here are a few of my
favorite handbags from the sales so far. I've been really good and
haven't bought a bag since last February in Paris! I'm thinking of
sticking to the one bag per year rule though it makes the choice of that
bag all the more difficult...

This See by Chloe clutch has a really unique shape in a pretty purple color.
Felix Rey gives us a nice juxtaposition of sweet bows and sexy studs with
this clutch, now half off and a pretty reasonable $45. Anyone looking for a
Christmas present idea for me? ...

This Vando bag from Gustto caught my eye as looking pretty different from
the usual sea of handbags, but I'm not completely sold on it.

Lastly, I really like the look of this patent bowler bag from Miu Miu, but I'm a
little worried that the bowler bag has been done to death with it's super
recognizable shape and logo. Also even at 40% off it's pretty pricey. Sigh I
guess the search continues.

New York, New York

I have seen more gorgeous bags hanging nonchalantly from well
dressed elbows and shoulders during my first month in New York
than I've seen ever before in my life. Even the number of designer
bags I've watched waltzing out of our apartment building has been
staggering. I guess owning a $1000+ bag is just standard for
Manhattan. I don't think I'll be joining their ranks for quite awhile
(if ever).

I saw a girl toting around this YSL beauty in the subway last
week and it was absolutely gasp inducing. The shape is perfection
and the style something that you could hold on to forever. For
$1395 you would definitely have to!

Again with the gray ... or purple...

I know this style by Foley & Corinna has been popular for quite awhile now, but I
hadn't really paid it much attention until recently. I am really in love with this charcoal
gray color and am a fan of having both the short and long strap options as well as the
tote vs folded over looks, helping you be equally chic on days when you have a lot to
carry as on days when you don't. Now if only the price tag wasn't $444. Ouch!

It's also available in this smaller size or surprise surprise Purple! How drool worthy
is that?!

My New Apartment

This is my favorite part of our new apartment! My husband made
this wonderful purse rack for me from a few Ikea bars and a bunch
of hooks, a great storage system for under $10. It's so nice to be
able to see them all at once when I'm putting together outfits in the
morning. Now what's missing? I'm thinking one in red and one in
purple!

Colette x Gap

The Colette by Gap collaboration pictures are finally up. Now
this, this I must definitely have (Jersey bow bag by Alexis
Mabille). The collection opens Sept 6 at 54th & 5th Ave. I will
be there. Will you?

Gorgeous!

I am 100% totally in love with this bag (on sale for $99.99 from $179.99). It's the perfect shape and color, and the long strap is a bit reminiscent of a school satchel without being too young! I wish we weren't moving so soon otherwise I would order it online right now, but maybe I can find it in the store tomorrow. Cross your fingers.

Chic Clutches from Arden B

A few cute clutches to go with all of your holiday outfits.

Arden B Metallic Plated clutch.

Patent Buckle clutch.

Satin Square Clutch, a much cheaper alternative to those pretty Devi Kroell
Jeweled clutches
that have been catching my eye lately.

Or if you're feeling really adventurous you could make a DIY project
out of one of these, some glue and some large fake jewels from a
crafts or fabric store... (Banana Republic Minaudiere).
