Sale item of the day

Linea Pelle amethyst purse, 43% off from Bluefly.com. I have been in love with Linea Pelle's super soft leather for ages and have been on the lookout for a purple purse for the past year. Very tempting...

Update (8/15/09): Bluefly has an extra 10% off all Bluesale items going on today. I just caved and ordered this purse! The only thing I'm not sure about is I wish it also came with a shorter strap in addition to the long strap. Oh well, I suppose I can always return it if it doesn't live up to my expectations.

Cross your body

I am so glad crossbody bags are back in style. These little ones would be great for
summer romping. I especially love the yellow See by Chloe one (33% off from
Nordstrom)! The second two are from my perennial favorite, Marc by Marc Jacobs
and on sale in Bloomingdale's 30% off designer handbags event (Quilting Single
Shoulder bag and Percy Crossbody).

Linea Pelle

Linea Pelle on HauteLook.com today. Very tempting... She uses the most supple, beautiful
leather, and I love the stud accenting. Here are my favorites from the sale.

Small Speedy, $150 (originally $375).

Nikki shoulder bag in flaming red, $218 (originally $545).

Cross body bags are so useful, Dylan small shoulder bag, $155 (originally $387.50).

Sale item of the day

I realized yesterday as I was digging through my pile of purses
that I don't have a really summer appropriate purse, something
smallish and preferably light colored. This is the one I'd get if I
hadn't already purchased a handbag this year. Summer chic in
"Latte", plus hexagons rock! Also save an extra 15% off orders
over $175 at Piperlime (10% 0ff orders over $125) with code
SAVE.

mouse flats!

I have been lusting after Marc Jacobs' various takes on the mouse
flat for years, but they have always been a bit too pricey for me to
spend on a rather frivolous shoe. It must be fate because now
they're on super sale and thanks to CT I got an extra 20% off (use
coupon code EXTRA to get 20% off all sale shoes). These black
ones are mine for about 60% off the original price! Whoop! Ok,
that might be enough shopping for me for awhile.

Sale Handbags

All of the stores seem to be having early sales this year. I suppose it's
yet another sign that our economy is in the toilet, but on the up side
it's made for some good Christmas present deals. Here are a few of my
favorite handbags from the sales so far. I've been really good and
haven't bought a bag since last February in Paris! I'm thinking of
sticking to the one bag per year rule though it makes the choice of that
bag all the more difficult...

This See by Chloe clutch has a really unique shape in a pretty purple color.
Felix Rey gives us a nice juxtaposition of sweet bows and sexy studs with
this clutch, now half off and a pretty reasonable $45. Anyone looking for a
Christmas present idea for me? ...

This Vando bag from Gustto caught my eye as looking pretty different from
the usual sea of handbags, but I'm not completely sold on it.

Lastly, I really like the look of this patent bowler bag from Miu Miu, but I'm a
little worried that the bowler bag has been done to death with it's super
recognizable shape and logo. Also even at 40% off it's pretty pricey. Sigh I
guess the search continues.

Bow bow bow your dress

Ok, this one might be a little over the top, even for me
dedicated bow lover for life, but I'm sure it would look
amazing on the right person (Marc by Marc Jacobs
velveteen bow dress on sale for $339 from $568).

DIY project

With all the fun painterly patterns around these days
I may just have to take up the brush and get working
on a little do it myself project. Else, just buy this super
cute dress from 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent, on sale
for $107.90.

Colette x Gap

The Colette x Gap pop-up store was madness, a teeny little shop (small yellow shopfront to the left of the Gap) with a line stretching around the block. It didn't seem soooo bad, but after I tried waiting for about 25 minutes and only moved about 5 people, I decided it just wasn't meant to be. It also started pouring about 10 minutes later so I'm glad I left. Amazingly even in the rain people were still lined up! I will try going back in about a week when the buzz has died down and maybe they've had a chance to replenish their stock. I still have my eye on that jersey purse! Some of the items are on sale on the Colette site, but unfortunately not my favorites. :(

Tax Day

"Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me

Cause I'm the tax man
Yea I'm the tax man
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all

Cause I'm the tax man
Yea I'm the tax man

If you drive a car-car I'll tax the street
If you try to sit-sit I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk I'll tax your feet
Tax man"

-Tax man by the Beatles

I don't know about you, but I had to write a gigantic check to the tax man
today. :( So, here are a few cute accessories from the Vera Wang for Kohl's
collection that won't break the bank... Now on sale!

Headbands:

Twisted triple wire headband, bead headband, patent-leather headwrap,
and flat-wire headband.

I desperately need a pair of sunglasses for the approaching summer! I'm not
willing to pay an arm and a leg for sunglasses only to sit on them, lose them,
or damage them in some other way which I just know I'll do within at most a
month of purchasing. These sunglasses from the Simply Vera collection look
like they might be perfect! Oversized square sunglasses, oversized sunglasses,
retro oval sunglasses, and thin oval sunglasses. Now I just have to figure out
where the nearest Kohls is...

Summer Dresses

"Summer lovin' had me a blast
Summer lovin' happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be
Summer days driftin' away,
to uh-oh those summer nights
Uh Well-a well-a well-a huh ...."

-Grease, Summer Nights.

I am SO ready for summer! In preparation I'm looking for some easy to
wear summer dresses that won't break the bank. In the summer my
dream is to live in dresses everyday, but I suppose that is a far away
goal...

There happen to be a bunch of cute summer dresses on sale right now,
but hurry cause they're moving fast!

French Connection Martinez dress, cute for summer and easy to wear
cotton. This Jersey dress also looks like it would be really comfortable
and great to throw on anytime.

Two dresses from J. Crew a go to shop for cute, preppy dresses,
Ruffle shift dress and beach dress.

Halter beach dress and Island eyelet (not on sale, but I thought they
were too cute not to add).

For a slightly more dressy look:

Francesca Dress.

Ok, this one isn't exactly summery or all that casual, but I really really love
the 20s styling of this DVF dress. I could totally see this on someone with a
classic, elegant look. (I don't know why, but I keep picturing Natalie Portman
wearing this dress my head. Maybe she wore something similar recently.)
