mouse flats!

I have been lusting after Marc Jacobs' various takes on the mouse
flat for years, but they have always been a bit too pricey for me to
spend on a rather frivolous shoe. It must be fate because now
they're on super sale and thanks to CT I got an extra 20% off (use
coupon code EXTRA to get 20% off all sale shoes). These black
ones are mine for about 60% off the original price! Whoop! Ok,
that might be enough shopping for me for awhile.

Helmut Lang tank!

Just ordered this Helmut Lang double layered cut-out tank from gilt.com.
Last time they had this tank I hesitated and it was sold out before I made up
my mind. This time I just went for it! Unlike most of the fast sale discount
designer places (RueLaLa etc), you can actually return merchandise to
gilt.com (for store credit). So, I feel a little less nervous ordering from them
and the discounts are amazing!

racer back hoodie?

Kinda love it, but is it totally impractical? Racerback hoodie from Urban Outfitters.

Shopping!

Work has been insane lately with lots of deadlines coming up. For some
reason this seems to lead to more blog posts rather than less, maybe
because I'm stuck at my computer for about 14 hours a day. Anyhow, it
does also mean I've barely been able to find time to exercise much less
shop. Except for that little jaunt to H&M the other day I haven't been to
the shops in months. Instead I decided to partake in a little online retail
therapy. I was browsing the Urban Outfitters site and picked up a few
things that have been on my mind for ages: these gray suede boots,

these chanel-esque two toned tights, and this feather headband similar to one
I blogged about almost a year ago now. I even managed to find a coupon code
online for 25% off everything on the site including shipping and handling. Just
enter the code luckybreaks8 when checking out. So, the total was about $100.
Not bad.

Love at first click

Despite being on somewhat of a spending freeze (well at least
slowdown) in an attempt to be fiscally responsible, I just couldn't
help it, I had to order this perfect half bow dress from Marc by Marc
Jacobs. It's on sale for 40% off at Nordstrom's though still a bit on
the pricey end of things. I had trouble deciding on color and sizing so
got one size in plum, and another in black hoping one of these
variations will fit (besides it strangely cost me less to order both and
return one since free shipping kicked in with the price of two and
returns are also free).

Dreaming of gunmetal?

Bluefly has a ton of cute stuff, I only wish I could try it on before
buying. I guess that's the curse of the online retailer. This is an
especially cute option by Madison Marcus. It's high waist, tank
top and shimmery fabric should be right on trend.

Nano Case

The other day I accidentally put my ipod nano through the washing machine and
into the dryer for about 5 minutes. When I heard a loud clomping sound coming
from the laundry room I realized my mistake and rushed to pull it out. Oops!
Unfortunately it wouldn't turn on, but after waiting about 4 days for it to dry out
completely I plugged it in and what do you know, it booted right up! Needless to
say I am pretty impressed, but I realized that I should definitely get on top of
things and finally buy a case for it. The nano is just so darn tiny that without a
case it is too easily misplaced, at least by my irresponsible self. ;)

I just ordered this snazzy looking armband case from ifrogz.com. You can choose
the wrap and screen picture separately for many of their cases. Above is my
motion armband with bird motif.

Site of the day

ShopStyle.com is my new favorite site for online shopping. They
index items from tons of retailers around the web for your shopping
pleasure. Here's a cute Calvin Klein patent leather shopper that I
found with a search for "patent leather" which turned up 880
matching items from shops as diverse as shopbop, macys, bluefly, liz
claiborne and many, many others.

I heart coats

In keeping with the cold weather theme of the day I give you a post about
coats.... Coats are some of my favorite things: wool coats and trench coats,
swing coats and plaid coats, long coats and leather coats. I've rarely met a
coat I didn't like.

White coats, how beautiful are thee... but oh how easily dirtied. Kenneth
Cole Reaction Funnel Coat and Marc Jacobs Twill Coat -- I know I've
posted a pic of this coat before, but it's still one of the most beautiful
coats I've come across in a long time. I love the shape and especially the
collar.

Bright coats cheer up a cold gray day (J Crew Gramercy Coat and Marc
by Marc Jacobs Wool Felt Coat).

Black coats are always useful, especially one with fun buttons (Diesel
Brosti Coat
, and Kensie Wool Pleated Coat)

Duffle coats and marmalade sandwiches to make you feel like Paddington
Bear (Banana Republic Wool Toggle Coat -- I got last year's version in
gray for Christmas and it's wonderfully toggly, and J. Crew Stadium cloth
toggle-coat).

I have never actually ever owned a puffer coat, though I imagine that
will change next year when I move to cold cold cold New York. I
rather like this metallic puff by J. Crew and Puffer Vest from Banana
Republic.

The only coat I don't think I'll ever own is a fur coat, though faux can be
fabulous (Faux-fur shrug and Animal-print faux-fur shrug). The one on the
left is adorable!

Cold Feet!

My feet tend to turn into icicles for practically the whole
winter long. In my quest to find something to warm my
tootsies (besides my husband's belly), I came across these
microwavable heated slippers (Cosy Soles, and Happy
Company Chenille Toes). They're not much to look at, but I
think I could sacrifice some fashion for toasty toes. There
are also battery operated versions, but having a battery on
or in your slipper might be somewhat awkward.

The Cosy Soles are heated throughout while the Happy
Company slippers have a microwavable scent pack that
smells of lavender, clove and chamomile.

Sale of the day

Net-A-Porter Sale Spectacular - up to 60% off.
Oh net-a-porter if only 60% off meant I could
afford you... sigh. Marc Jacos Multi-strap leather
boots.
