Those shoes

First I saw them here.

And then I saw them here...

And then I find out they're Jessica Simpson Dany's?!? Wow
Jessica, you surprise me. I must say I am loving this t-strap
platform.

And then I saw them here (via WhoWhatWear). No wait, look
closer. Those are Jeffrey Campbells! What is the world coming
to when Jeffrey Campbell is knocking off Jessica Simpson?!?

Spring!

It's Spring, and as usual the clothes are in bloom! I am especially liking all of the floral
patterned shoes (Deena & Ozzy flowered Oxfords).

The Gap also has quite a few fun options (loving these wedges, and t-strap sandals).

Or if you prefer to take it up a notch, you can wear your flowers on your sleeve or skirt.

All Clogged Up

So what do we think of the clog trend? I personally kind of like them, but then again I've always been a bit of a fan of the clog, though previously in the stodgy Dansko kind of way (right). Apparently they're really good for people with professions that involve a lot of standing around.

Clogs also remind me of the Dr Scholl's sandals my mom wore when I was growing up (to this day I love the sound of wooden soles clomping through the house). So, there's the nostalgia factor. Perhaps these NineWest Eddisha sandals are a good updated version?

These two from Jeffrey Campbell, and SteveMadden are dead ringers for the Chanel pair right down to their brass buttons. The Steve Madden's even have a bit of a Camilla Skovgaard sole going on.

But, I think if I were to get something I'd probably stick with something more traditional like these Swedish Hasbeen's or Seychelles slip on clogs.

Wings!

On a random whirlwind weekend trip to the Bay Area
recently (after an impromptu rendevous with some mint
humbugs and Rhubarb custards at Fiona's sweet shoppe)
my friend A and I stopped into a cute and uber trendy
little shop called Shotwell. I couldn't resist picking up a
few out-there pieces. I've been pondering this 2 finger ring
from Surface to Air for awhile now on the Oak site, but
after finally seeing one in person I had to finally make it
mine!

I also got this semi-insane winged harness thing by Zana
Bayne. Reactions so far have ranged from "Oh my god that
is so you, you have to buy it!" to "errr what exactly is that
and how do you wear it?" So, now I just have to find an
appropriate venue (what sort of event exactly is a winged
leather harness appropriate for?) and work up the courage
to actually wear it out of the house.

A few more things I wish I could have taken home with me:
Elizabeth & James Cubist dress -- why is it that everything
I want these days just happens to be one shouldered?

Play by Commes des Garcons sweater -- oh heart with eyes you are
just adorable!

Oxfords for me!

I have been a fan of oxfords for ages, but never
could quite convince my husband to buy any.
Luckily this year oxfords are on trend for women
so they are everywhere! Many of them are upwards
of $200-300, but I recently bought these Steve
Madden Melin Oxfords
for $80 on Endless.com.
For Steve Maddens the leather is actually quite nice
and I was able to walk pretty far without any blisters
even on first wear. They're great with pants or even
Spring's flowery dresses.

Now I just need my matching batchel and I'm all set
to step out into the world as an English school girl. ;)

Juxtapose

I think these two 20x200 prints from Rachel Papo would make a nice
composition positioned head to head next to each other on my wall

(Waiting for hand granade practice and Nastya before class). Thoughts?

Happy Easter everyone!

E-Ink

Oh damn, April fools foils me again. I thought this moodInq -
programmable tattoo system
was real! Being able to switch up
your tattoo daily with implanted e-ink would be so awesome!
Looks like they're working on it, but it's still a product of the
future.

Happy April Fools day everyone!

All hands on deck

A little bit dress melded with a Greek statue, a little bit Ridley Scott's alien,
and a whole lot of fun (Hussein Chalayan S2010).

Of course the obvious comparison is to these Comme Des Garcons F2007 hands,
but I'm liking the realism and twisting/grasping of the Chalayan ones much
much more.

Paddington + Liberty prints?

My husband has had a lifelong dream of dressing like Paddington bear. So, the two of us
have a fair number of duffel coats in our closet. I quite like the long toggles and flowered
liberty print insides of this Louche Kittty Cropped Duffel Jacket. Plus the weight and
length are great for this time of year when the weather can't quite make up it's mind
whether to settle on winter or spring.

Botkier

I'm really digging this Botkier satchel. It's a good size, not unbelievably expensive if I can find it on sale somewhere, I like the double short and long handles, and the zips add a little bit of flair. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is the roundness.

Lady Liberty

Target's newest Go International designer collection has me dreaming of
spring with Liberty of London floral prints. Here are my favorites.

Loving this one shoulder maxi-dress.

This clutch would look fabulous for a day out with the girls.

Nothing cheers up a rainy day more than clomping in puddles with some brightly
patterned rain boots!

Or you could take this roadster for a fun jaunt about town.

There are even some cute options for the home!

Spiderwoman

You think that we connect
That the chemistry's correct
Your words walk right through my ears
Presuming I like what I hear
And now I'm stuck in the
The web you're spinning
You've got me for you prey

(Yeah) Sorry I'm not home right now
I'm walking into spiderwebs
So leave a message
And I'll call you back
A likely story, but (Yeah) leave a message
And I'll call you back

...

No Doubt, "Spiderwebs"

Loving this D&G dress that Victoria Beckham is wearing. So spiderwebby! I wonder if you
could do something similar with a white dress and a few pairs of fishnets.

Here's a more modestly priced alternative from Nicole Miller.
