Origami Style

Ever since I saw these gorgeous works of art from the Dior Fall 2007
show they've been tumbling about at the back of my mind waiting to
get implemented in real life. I love how the pleated detailing gives the
cloth the look of folded pieces of paper, especially on the grey dress
on right. Those shoes remind me of modernized Japanese Geta
sandals, "clack clack clack".

Karen Millen also has some pretty origami inspired dresses. These
dresses are less extreme than the ones by Dior, and definitely more
wearable.

This dress by Armani Prive (left) has some folded origami detailing on
top, and Luis Viaroma gives us some subtle origami-esque pleating.

If you want to buy an origami inspired piece in real life, Net-a-porter has
some beautiful options by Rachel Roy, and Vanessa Bruno.

This Fendi dress also has some folded detailing with a casual cool style.

Here are some of the Karen Millen dresses available for purchase in
stores. I couldn't find the purple dress online anywhere, I think it might
be from a few seasons back, but I saw the orange dress in a shop the
other day and it is simply amazing in person. Both the color and satin
fabric make it look absolutely luxe.

For a slightly more affordable option, this As U Wish dress will only
set you back $64, and if you really want to stand out in a crowd this
skirt from Brown's is on sale for half off.
